Oh hi

Hello. My name is [insert random Grandma's name here and you'll probably get my name right]. I like comics and politics, and will be making a short political cartoon / comic for each blog. Hence the domain name. That'll be fun.

I'm also apparently a Young Outsider according to the Pew Research Center, which was kinda weird because I thought I leaned left. I still think I lean left, and I may have gotten that result because my views are much more nuanced than the answer choices in the questions (which I understand were general and bipolar on purpose). Or maybe I'm just in the middle??

Are yall actually interested in my political opinions?

Idk, but here are some of them anyway. I believe that the government has a lot of potential but isn't there right now because people apparently don't want to compromise anymore. I think that parties create a rifts between people and it sucks that no one wants to identify as an independent. I feel like the general population isn't really interested or informed about politics, so America doesn't really have a true democracy. I support liberal environmental and social policy because it's nice having rights and being alive and not breathing in smoke every day. Really nice. I know we don't technically have political machines anymore, but special interest groups have a suspicious resemblance to them anyway. I believe that cities are kinda in a crisis because they don't have much political power when considering the densities of their populations. After all, they're in a cycle of attempting to attract companies so they can provide for the poor, but it's hard to get a balance between the number of welfare programs and the number of tax breaks and football stadiums. In addition, education should be reformed for the sake of building a moral, prepared workforce rather than making up a policy quickly so that people will vote for a certain politician.

//end rant
Also, I was mildly lying when I said I'd have a political cartoon for each post. There won't be a cartoon for this one. Here are some kittens instead.
